FLETCHER, NC --
Whole house, hands-free, backwashing carbon filter on city water... for the win! If you're not used to city water, it's very likely you'll taste the residual chlorine in the water. A lot of people are used to it and it's not an issue but, generally speaking, if you're on city water, it's there whether you notice it or whether it bothers you, or not. In this customer's case, it was an issue.
For more information on the benefits of a carbon filter, check out our carbon filter page. For a truly hands-free approach, we recommended the backwashing variety. There are less expensive options, but they require routine monitoring and filter changing, which can be a pain. This customer has a three bathroom house and enough water usage to require a larger carbon filter. The carbon block option would mean routinely changing a rather heavy filter. However, their filtration location had electrical, space, and draining capabilities in place, allowing for the backwashing, hands-free option.
City chlorine... no longer effecting the taste of their water, while still keeping the microorganisms at bay. Peace of mind is priceless. We think they made the right choice.
