FAIRVIEW, NC --
Water hardness levels vary here in Western North Carolina, from 0 - 50 grains per gallon (GPG). Even 1 GPG is considered hard... but only slightly hard. This customer's water tested 2 GPG before their neutralizer was installed. Neutralizers add hardness (calcium and magnesium) to the water in order to raise the pH which, in this customer's case, increased the hardness to 4 GPG. Over time, mineral deposits (white mineral buildup at fixtures, ie: kitchen faucet & shower head) began to appear.
Enter, the water softener. The water's hardness is now being removed and the customer will no longer see mineral deposits at fixtures. With routine maintenance, this system will effectively treat the water entering the home for lifetimes, preventing mineral buildup, corrosion, and potential clogging, leaking, or etching of glass - a common characteristic of hardness.
